Charging Cables

Charging cables for devices within the Lab have been color-coded by type. You can find the corresponding color both on the back of the device as well as near the plug on the cable itself. They include:

USB Type C

Typically this connector type is found on the latest generation of Android devices and some laptops.

Lightning Cable

This connector type was release alongside the iPhone 5 and has been the predominant Apple device connector type since.

Micro USB

We often find this connector type on older devices and more budget-friendly devices.

Proprietary or AC

These devices are either using their own connector standard or are charged via an AC brick-type charging cable.
